Course Overview

1. Deck Department Training

  • Seamanship (anchoring, mooring, rope splicing, knotting)
  • Basic navigation and ship operations
  • Bridge watchkeeping and lookout duties
  • Cargo operations and ship maintenance
  • Firefighting procedures at deck level
  • Emergency signals, drills, and safety routines

2. Engine Department Training

  • Basics of marine engineering
  • Machinery maintenance (pumps, compressors, valves, etc.)
  • Engine room watchkeeping and safety protocols
  • Fuel and lubrication systems
  • Cleaning, painting, and equipment upkeep

3. STCW Safety Training (Mandatory for All Seafarers)

As per IMO standards, candidates undergo the following five modules:

  • PST Personal Survival Techniques
  • FPFF Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
  • EFA Elementary First Aid
  • PSSR Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities
  • STSDSD Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties
