The Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) Course is a 4-month pre-sea training program designed for individuals who aspire to work in the electrical and electronics department aboard merchant ships. Approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS), Government of India, this course is mandatory for candidates who wish to operate and maintain advanced shipboard electrical, electronic, and automation systems.
As an ETO, your role involves managing and troubleshooting critical systems such as:
- Power generation and distribution networks
- Engine room automation systems
- Navigation and communication equipment
- Fire detection and safety control systems
Applicants must hold a Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or related fields and pass a medical and eyesight test before enrollment.
